Kinja'd!!!

Just installed new calipers and pads all around and bled all four yesterday, car was still stopping horribly. Doing it again now, still on first one... Only getting air coming out now and no more fluid. Is it that there is actually this much air in the lines or is something messed up?

Are you topping up the master cylinder? And what were the symptoms before you changed the pads?

Also may be a master cylinder problem.

Topping it up. Just realized that it wasn't at the level we thought it was though heh. Getting very weak brake response and very hard to stop car. I think we may have figured it out.

My 944 was the same, the brake fluid reservoir was a bit deceptive. Just make sure that you have an end to the bubbles that come out, or else you might need to replace or bench bleed the master cylinder.

If you ran the master cylinder dry, be prepared to run a lot of fluid through it.

A good trick is to find the brake line with the longest run from the master cylinder, then crack the bleeder just a little bit so it dribbles out while leaving the lid off the master cylinder. Over time air will run out of the system, keep an eye on the fluid level in the master cylinder and an eye on what comes out of the bleeder, once it appears to be mostly clear go about bleeding normally until there is no air. Then hit the other three calipers and you should have rock-solid brakes.
